Three vehicles figured in a crash in Vernon last Friday.
The incident occurred on West Street (Route 527) and authorities responded to reports of the accident at approximately 6:00 p.m. Emergency crews dispatched to the area discovered three vehicles involved in a crash. 31-year-old Munira Qureshi of Amhurst sustained critical injuries after her car collided with another vehicle driven by 61-year-old Randall Berube of Ellington. Qureshi was taken to Rockville Hospital where she was eventually pronounced dead, while Berube was brought to Hartford Hospital where he was listed as stable. 49-year-old Kevin Zorda of Enfield was driving the third vehicle and sustained minor injuries. He wasn’t transported to the hospital. Authorities are still investigating the incident and will release more information when appropriate.
Multiple-vehicle collisions typically result in heavy damage and serious injuries. Authorities work on preventing these incidents by identifying and addressing causes as effectively as they can. This may have a secondary benefit: victims of these incidents may be entitled to damages as determined by legal experts.
