Torrington – Highway Truck Accident
A rollover crash resulted in delays in Torrington last Saturday.
Route 8 North at Exit 46 was temporarily closed following an accident involving a semi. Officials reported an overturned tractor-trailer in the area. The incident resulted in injuries and heavy damage, and prompted dispatchers to request multiple fire and EMS teams to the site. No one has been identified yet and authorities have yet to report entrapment, hit-and-run, or DUI. The crash scene was cleared a few minutes before 3:00 p.m., but the incident is still under investigation.
Overturned trucks are serious road hazards that have to be cleared as quickly as possible, particularly when the current climate is considered. Motorists can be seriously hurt in these situations, and that makes identifying their causes important if victims are to be given opportunities to cope and find closure.
