A man died after a motorcycle crash in Ledyard last Monday.
68-year-old Antonio Barboza of Norwich was riding his motorcycle on Avery Hill Road when he crashed. He sustained serious injuries in the accident but remained responsive when emergency crews arrived. He was immediately transported to The William W. Backus Hospital where he died soon after. According to authorities, Barboza was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and no other vehicle was involved in the incident. The case is still under investigation. Officials will release more information when appropriate.
Single-vehicle accidents, a motorcycle in this case, requires studying product/vehicle defects as possible causes. There have been many instances of this happening in the past. That said, if any form of negligence is established, victims or their families may be entitled to file for damage/compensation claims.
