Stratford – Sentence For DUI Suspect
A former officer was just found guilty in connection with a DUI incident in Stratford.
On December 22, 2017, 19-year-old Elizabeth Bucci was driving on Broadbridge Avenue when her vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle driven by John Carrano. The subsequent investigation revealed that Carrano was highly intoxicated at the time of the crash; he just left a party at Vazzy’s Pasta & Pizza. Both Bucci and Carrano sustained multiple injuries in the incident and had to be extricated by responding firefighters. Last Monday, Carrano was given a suspended sentence, followed by at least three years of probation.
The circumstances surrounding this incident are complicated, to say the least. The offender/defendant was a military veteran and former police officer. He was made liable for his actions, regardless of the sentence that was given and other considerations. Suffice it to say, anyone injured due to negligence is advised to consult a legal expert so that his/her case can be properly evaluated.
