Stratford – 13 Injured In Head-On Collision
A head-on collision injured several people in Stratford last Saturday.
Two minivans were traveling near Main Street and River Road when they collided head-on. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and discovered 13 people hurt in the accident. Around half of those injured were children. According to responders, it took them about 30 minutes to extricate three victims from their vehicles. 12 victims were taken to Bridgeport Hospital, while one was brought to Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital. A firefighter was also injured while working at the crash site. The accident is currently under investigation.
It’s important for accident responders to ensure the safety of everyone involved in road incidents, so extricating trapped motorists is always a priority. Identifying culprits/causes is another concern that authorities focus on so that similar accidents can be prevented in the future.
