Stamford – Reckless Behavior Causes Injury

A woman has been charged with assault in Stamford after attacking a police officer last Sunday.

36-year-old Birgit Rojas-Ibanez from Astoria is currently facing an assault charge after she headbutted a police officer who was trying to arrest her. At around 8:00 p.m., authorities were called to a restaurant on Southfield Avenue. Apparently, Rojas-Ibanez was exhibiting reckless behavior while inside the establishment. As soon as local police arrested her, she headbutted one of the officers, causing bruising on the head. She has since been taken into custody and is scheduled to appear in court.
