Seymour – Fatality In Motorcycle Accident

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Seymour yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., a motorcycle driven by a still unidentified person crashed near the intersection of North Avenue (Route 721) and New Haven Road (Route 67). According to police, the rider sustained serious injuries in the accident and died shortly after from those injuries. Officials cordoned off the accident scene to facilitate an investigation of the incident. The identity of the victim will be provided when appropriate. Authorities will also release more information as they become available.

In many single-vehicle accidents without immediately apparent causes, drivers are considered as primary suspects. That said, investigators will also look at other possibilities, such as product/vehicle defects, as these factors have resulted in accidents in the past. Whatever the conclusion, if authorities establish negligence in any of these cases, victims or their families have various options they can explore with their legal counsel.
