Middletown – Rollover Accident With Multiple Injuries

Two vehicles rolled over after a collision in Middletown last Friday evening.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Main Street (Route 66) and Hartford Avenue, near the Arrigoni Bridge. A 2002 Toyota Avalon was attempting a right turn from Hartford Avenue to northbound Main Street when it crossed the median onto the southbound side, colliding with a 2015 Mercedes-Benz that was traveling south on Main Street. Both vehicles rolled over from the collision. Emergency crews had to extricate the driver of the Toyota before being transported to St. Francis Hospital for further evaluation and treatment. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz sustained minor injuries and was brought to Middlesex Hospital but has since been discharged. The accident is still being investigated by authorities. The identities of the victims have yet to be disclosed.

In this case, both involved parties were injured in the accident, so identifying the culprit will be challenging but should be the priority of investigators. Having said that, if negligence, DUI or reckless behavior/driving can be established, then aggrieved parties can file for damages/compensation.
