Multi-Vehicle Accidents in Connecticut
According to Connecticut officials, the number of people killed on roadways statewide in 2020 was at its highest since 2016, despite the COVID-19 pandemic contributing to fewer cars on the road overall. And per the Transportation Safety Research Center, speed is the leading cause of most of these fatal collisions.
Sadly, police reported more than 75,000 traffic accidents, generally caused by drivers breaking traffic laws. Authorities cited speeding, reckless driving, and DUI as top contributors to serious collisions.
Most of these Connecticut vehicle accidents are preventable. However, serious accidents continue to rise every year and victims endure tragic circumstances as a result.
Many car accident victims undergo emergency medical treatment and spend weeks or even months in recovery. Only adding stress to the situation is the fact that many injuries require costly physical therapy, time-consuming treatment for emotional trauma, and more.
