Hamden – Senior Hit By Car
A man was struck by a car while crossing Dixwell Avenue in Hamden last Sunday.
74-year-old Robert Sheard was crossing Dixwell Avenue (Route 10) riding his mobility scooter when he was hit by a car directly in front of the Miller Memorial Library. Responders arrived at the scene at around 1 p.m. The vehicle that hit Sheard was driven by a 69-year-old resident of Middletown. Sheard sustained major injuries and was immediately transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital. He later died due to his injuries. Hamden Police are still investigating the incident. They are requesting anyone with information about the accident to contact them immediately.
