Griswold – Motorcycle Crash Causing Serious Injuries
A man sustained serious injuries in a crash in Griswold last Monday evening.
At around 7:45 p.m., 38-year-old Javier Dario Santiago was riding his motorcycle westbound on Route 201 crossing Griswold, and close to Hopeville Pond State Park, when his motorcycle swerved to the opposite lane of the road. A Kia Sedona with two occupants was moving eastbound and was hit by the motorcycle. The driver and passenger of the car sustained minor injuries and were immediately transported to Backus Hospital for treatment. On the other hand, Santiago sustained serious injuries after he was thrown off the motorcycle due to the crash. A rescue helicopter was called in and transported Santiago to Rhode Island Hospital.
