Fairfield – Interstate Crash

A highway accident occurred in Fairfield yesterday afternoon.

The incident was reported at approximately 2:45 p.m. and prompted officials to send emergency responders to I-95 South. An accident occurred about a tenth of a mile before Exit 21 (Mill Plain Road) between an unspecified number of vehicles. Injuries were reported, and EMS crews were requested on-site. All affected parties have since been accounted for, and road crews were able to clear the crash scene less than half an hour later. Other details have yet to be provided by authorities. Updates will be provided as soon as more info becomes available.

Emergency responders follow strict protocols when processing crash sites, and this should benefit injured parties as their safety will always be the priority. That said, preventing future incidents from happening depends on the ability of officials to identify accident causes. Motorists exhibiting reckless or negligent behavior should not be allowed to operate vehicles, and must be made liable for their actions.
