East Haven – Rollover Crash Update

Officials just released more info regarding last Wednesday’s rollover accident in East Haven.

Just past 1:00 p.m., a vehicle crashed into a utility pole and rolled over at the intersection of Burr and James Streets. The driver was trapped inside the overturned vehicle and had to be extricated by responding firefighters. He was then taken to the hospital for treatment; the victim is currently listed as stable. The still-unidentified motorist was the only occupant in the car. Authorities have not released the identity of the victim and are expected to do so in due time. Further updates will be provided as new info becomes available.

Many rollover accidents result in serious injuries. Fortunately, this driver was extricated and treated quickly. Having said that, investigators will continue to study all evidence until liability has been sufficiently established. In some scenarios, causes are not readily apparent, so all possibilities should always be looked at. Negligence can even be involved in some cases, and that may enable injured motorists to file claims against liable parties.
