Windsor – Interstate Crash With Fatality
There were heavy delays in Windsor after a multiple-vehicle accident last Friday.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the southbound lanes of I-91 and discovered a crash involving several vehicles. According to officials, at approximately 11:45 a.m., 59-year-old Joy Deloge was driving her vehicle on the right lane when she rear-ended a Hyundai in front of her. This forced her car to hit a guardrail before swerving onto other lanes, hitting another vehicle. That car, a Ford, then crashed into a tractor-trailer. Deloge sustained critical injuries in the crash and pronounced dead at Hartford Hospital. The operator of the semi was not injured, while the drivers of the Hyundai and Ford sustained minor injuries. Authorities closed down the highway immediately after the crash to facilitate an investigation into its cause. All lanes have since been reopened, though the incident is still under investigation.
Details already released regarding this case point to possible negligence, though authorities have yet to finalize their investigation. Whatever the outcome, if they discover any form of negligence or reckless behavior, injured parties not responsible for the crash may have various legal options at their disposal.
