Westport – Driver Injured In Vehicle Crash
A construction vehicle crashed into a utility pole in Westport yesterday.
Shortly after noon, authorities received reports of a downed pole on Morningside Drive South and immediately dispatched emergency crews to the area. According to officials, a construction vehicle crashed into a utility pole just in front of Greens Farms Elementary School, forcing road crews to close a section of the roadway. The driver of the vehicle sustained injuries in the incident and was quickly tended to by medical personnel. Eversource was also called in to repair the damaged pole. No word yet on the identity of the operator or the extent of his/her injuries. Updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
