West Haven – Interstate Vehicle Accident

Authorities responded to a highway crash in West Haven late Sunday evening.

Heavy delays were reported on the southbound lanes of I-95 following a crash that occurred between Exits 43 and 42. At approximately 9:55 p.m. an unspecified number of vehicles was involved in a crash that resulted in injuries. This prompted state and local officials to dispatch fire and EMS crews to the area. All motorists involved have been accounted for and tended to by responders. The incident blocked off a portion of the highway, though all lanes have since been cleared. No word yet on the current status of all injured/involved motorists and the crash is still under investigation.

Officials handling any road incident follow strict protocols to ensure the safety of everyone involved, as well as to allow investigators ample time to collect evidence and identify crash culprits. The second goal is noteworthy because if officials discover negligence in any of these cases, injured parties may have the option to seek damages with the help of expert legal counsel.
