Waterbury – Vehicles Wrecked After Intersection Crash
Two vehicles, including an exotic sports car, collided in Waterbury last Tuesday morning.
At around 9:45 a.m., 74-year-old George Nybakken was driving a 2005 Lotus Elise north on North West Street when he collided with a Toyota minivan while attempting to turn left onto Cooke Street. Video footage suggested Nybakken did not slow down while making the turn. Both vehicles were heavily damaged in the collision. While both drivers were not hurt, a 25-year-old passenger in the minivan sustained injuries and was immediately brought to Bristol Hospital for evaluation and treatment. The incident remains under investigation. Authorities will release further updates when appropriate.
