Vernon – Rush-Hour Vehicle Accident

A section of I-84 was blocked off due to an accident in Vernon yesterday afternoon.

Fire and EMS crews responded to reports of a crash on I-84 at approximately 4:22 p.m. and discovered an accident that resulted in injuries. The incident occurred about half a mile past Exit 64 (Route 83) and forced a partial closure of the highway that lasted around an hour and a half. Medical personnel have since tended to everyone injured in the incident, while all lanes have since been cleared of obstructions. The crash is still under investigation and authorities are asking possible witnesses to contact them as soon as possible.

Rush-hour accidents frequently occur across the state, I-95 and I-84, in particular. Authorities are always working on improving road safety for everyone, and addressing the causes of these incidents is an effective way of preventing future crashes. Motorists should take note of how officials investigate these accidents because injured parties may have the option of filing for damages. This is particularly relevant when investigators establish reckless behavior or negligence in some of these cases.
