Trumbull – Fatal Highway Crash

Two motorists were involved in a highway crash in Trumbull early Sunday evening.

At approximately 7:17 p.m., 59-year-old Pamela Maestri-Howes of Easton was driving her Ford Explorer south on Route 15 when a Mercedes-Benz sedan, driven by a still-unidentified motorist, collided with her vehicle. Maestri-Howes was ejected from her vehicle after it veered off its intended path, crashing into a guardrail and rolling over before coming to a stop. She was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center where she was eventually pronounced dead. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz sustained minor injuries but refused treatment. The crash is currently under active investigation. More details will follow.
