Willimantic – Pedestrian Injured In Hit-And-Run

A pedestrian was injured in an incident in Willimantic last Monday evening.

At approximately 8:47 p.m., authorities received reports of an accident near the intersection of Route 66 (Main Street) and Walnut Street. According to responders, a pedestrian was injured by a pole after it was struck by a vehicle. The 50-year-old female victim was immediately transported to the hospital for treatment. The driver immediately fled the area and remains at large, while the vehicle was later declared as stolen. Willimantic – Pedestrian Hit By Vehicle

A local resident was hit by a passing vehicle in Willimantic last Tuesday evening.

Reports of the incident came in at approximately 7:13 p.m. and prompted authorities to dispatch responders to the intersection of Main Street (Route 66) and Mansfield Avenue. Upon arriving they discovered a 57-year-old man who was hit by a car while attempting to cross the roadway. Paramedics immediately transported the victim to Windham Community Memorial Hospital, after which he was airlifted by LifeStar to another hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The identity of the victim has yet to be disclosed pending an investigation. Updates will be released when appropriate.

Willimantic – Car Crashes Into Pole

A car crashed into a utility pole in Willimantic yesterday.

Fire crews responded to reports of a car crash in the area of 560 Main Street and discovered a vehicle that had crashed into a utility pole just outside a building. Injuries were reported by authorities, and emergency crews had to deal with smoke emanating from the damaged car. Officials cordoned off the area surrounding the scene and have attended to everyone involved.
