New Haven – Pedestrian Killed In Crash

Authorities are looking for a motorist who struck and killed a pedestrian in New Haven Monday evening.

At around 8:00 p.m., 44-year-old Gilberto Molina was walking near the intersection of Columbus Avenue and West Street when a still-unidentified vehicle hit him. Responders quickly arrived on-site and transported the victim to Yale-New Haven Hospital where he eventually died yesterday (Tuesday). Authorities are now investigating leads and reports that could help them apprehend the hit-and-run motorist. New Haven Police officials are encouraging witnesses and anyone with relevant info to contact their office as soon as possible.

Pedestrians are frequently injured or killed when motorists exhibit negligent or reckless behavior, such as driving under the influence and other factors. Suffice it to say, these culprits have to be stopped from hurting or killing more people. On the other hand, victims or their families should be given sufficient opportunities to cope and find closure. Bringing suspects to justice and allowing aggrieved parties to file claims against culprits are important steps toward this goal.

Norwalk – Prison Term In Fatal Crash

A motorist who killed two people in Norwalk in 2018 will be sentenced to 10 years in prison.

In January 2018, 50-year-old Frank Peterson III and 40-year-old Anthony Johnson, both Stamford residents, were traveling on Connecticut Avenue when a BMW collided head-on with their vehicle. Both were killed in the collision. 35-year-old Anthony Domond was driving the BMW and was under the influence of a prohibited substance at the time of the crash. He was arrested in April that same year and was charged with two counts of first-degree manslaughter. Domond has since accepted a plea deal that will have him serve ten years in prison, followed by five years of probation. His sentencing is scheduled for March 20.

The suspect in this case clearly exhibited negligent behavior by driving while under the influence. Regardless of circumstances, plea deals, and so on, authorities will always prioritize bringing liable parties to justice and making all roads safer for everyone. It pays to follow road-related cases because we are informed of the legal ramifications of these scenarios. This would be beneficial if ever we or our loved ones are involved in similar situations in the future.

A 33-year-old motorist was inside her vehicle parked in front of 1137 Post Road East when 18-year-old Ellis Tibere opened the driver’s side door. The victim attempted to push Tibere away and was stabbed in the leg several times in the process. Tibere was subsequently arrested by responders and is still under custody. Officials just released an update yesterday. According to available evidence, the victim was not specifically targeted by Tibere and was just randomly spotted by the assailant. A $1 million bond is currently issued against Tibere. Authorities continue to investigate the attack and will release more updates when appropriate.
