New London – Crash Fatality Identified

The woman who was driving the car that crashed in New London last Thursday evening has been identified.

Just before 8:00 p.m., 73-year-old Susan Wheeler of Niantic was driving with a companion when her car swerved off Ocean Avenue (Route 213) and crashed into various obstacles, including a utility pole, before stopping in a residential yard. Respondents quickly arrived at the scene and brought Wheeler to L+M Hospital for treatment. She was later pronounced dead by hospital officials. Her passenger stayed at the scene of the accident. North Branford – Woman Trapped After Crash

A woman was trapped inside her car and fatally injured after a crash in North Branford last Thursday evening.

At approximately 8:23 p.m. emergency crews responded to a report of an accident in front of 1536 Middletown Avenue (Route 17) where a car crashed into a pole. Kelly Reilly was trapped inside her car and needed to be extricated by fire crews. After being freed, she was immediately transported to Yale New Haven Hospital for treatment but was later pronounced dead by hospital officials. Newtown – Toddy Hill Crash

More details about the rollover crash in Newtown last Sunday have been released by officials.

The driver of a car that rolled over in Newtown has now been identified as 27-year-old Anthony Giordano of Trumbull. At about 4:47 p.m. last Sunday, he was driving his 2009 Hyundai Elantra southbound on Toddy Hill Road when his car veered into the right shoulder, hitting a mailbox post. The car then swerved across the street and dropped off the left shoulder, rolling onto its roof.
