Bristol – Man Pleads Guilty In Case

A man accused of hitting a police officer with his vehicle pleaded guilty last Tuesday.

At approximately 10:50 p.m. on April 4, 18-year-old Christian Lonergan was driving a stolen Ford Explorer SUV when local officers were informed of his location. An officer identified Lonergan while parked on Pound Street and slowly approached the vehicle. When the officer was just a few feet away, Lonergan turned his steering wheel to the left, hitting the officer and knocking him to the pavement. The victim sustained injuries to his arm. Lonergan also hit other vehicles in his attempt to escape the area. His vehicle eventually swerved off the roadway and Lonergan was apprehended by other responding officers. He is facing charges of third-degree larceny and assault of a police officer — other charges were dropped in exchange for his guilty plea. He is scheduled to appear in court for his sentencing on November 5.

Bristol – Head-On Crash With Multiple Injuries

Two SUVs collided in Bristol last Monday.

Authorities received reports of the crash at approximately 3:30 p.m. Officials converged at the intersection of West and South Streets and discovered two SUVs that collided head-on in the area. One of the vehicles came to a stop at the intersection, while the other was forced off the roadway into a vacant lot. Several motorists, including children, were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment of injuries. The incident is still under investigation. This post will be updated as soon as authorities release more information.

Head-on collisions can be caused by different factors and almost always result in serious injuries. Accurately identifying the causes of these crashes can be challenging but necessary if future incidents are to be avoided. That said, injured parties not responsible for these collisions may have the option to file for damages if investigators discover negligence as a culprit. In these scenarios, legal experts can help these victims pursue this course of action.

Bristol – Suspect Enters Plea In DUI Incident

A DUI suspect just pleaded not guilty to charges related to a pedestrian incident in Bristol.

At approximately 5:45 p.m. on August 24, a pedestrian was walking on Jerome Avenue, near Swanson Drive, when he was hit by a vehicle being driven by 22-year-old Clayton Nogiec. The pedestrian sustained serious injuries in the incident. Instead of stopping immediately, Nogiec fled the area. Authorities received a call from a good samaritan informing them of his possible location, and he was eventually apprehended on Farmington Avenue. According to police records, Nogiec was exhibiting erratic behavior when he was arrested. Officials later found a regulated substance in his possession. He currently faces several charges related to the incident. His next court date is on October 10.

Bristol – Hit-And-Run Suspect Apprehended

A man was arrested following a hit-and-run incident in Bristol last Saturday.

22-year-old Clayton Nogiec is currently facing several charges in connection to a pedestrian accident. At approximately 5:45 p.m., Nogiec was driving his 2019 Nissan Rogue south on Jerome Avenue when he hit a pedestrian walking his dog near Swanson Drive. Instead of stopping, Nogiec fled the scene. Bristol – Multi-Vehicle Accident

Two people were hospitalized after a multiple-vehicle collision in Bristol yesterday afternoon.

The incident occurred on Pine Street (Route 72), near its intersection with Hemlock Street. At around 3:00 p.m., three vehicles were involved in a collision that forced two cars into the yard of a residential property. Emergency crews quickly arrived and closed down the accident site to facilitate cleanup operations. EMS crews transported two motorists to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The accident caused heavy delays in the area, though the site has since been cleared. Officials have yet to identify any of the victims pending an investigation. They will do so when appropriate.

Multiple-vehicle collisions can be challenging to investigate because the causes of these accidents are not immediately obvious. That said, once they establish liability in these cases, injured parties not accountable for these incidents may have the option of filing for damages with the help of expert legal counsel.

Medical crews quickly loaded the victim to an ambulance and transported him to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries. No other vehicle was in the area when authorities arrived. Motorcycle accidents with no discernible causes have to be investigated thoroughly for possible vehicle defects or hit-and-run instances. Either way, if any form of reckless behavior or negligence can be established in any of these cases, and if victims are cleared of any responsibility, they have the option of filing for damages as deemed appropriate by their legal counsel.
