Stamford – Serious Vehicle Accident
Several people were victims of a crash in Stamford early yesterday morning.
At approximately 2:30 a.m., a 2008 Nissan Altima was traveling at the intersection of Canal and Henry Streets when it swerved off the roadway, hitting two utility poles before crashing into a brick wall. Fire and EMS crews quickly responded to reports of the crash and discovered three occupants who were able to leave the car and three who were trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters were able to extricate two of the trapped occupants, while 19-year-old Kymoni Pollock of Stamford, was pronounced dead at the scene. 18-year-old Nishawn Toliver of Stamford died at Stamford Hospital. Four other victims, including the driver of the vehicle, were also transported to Stamford Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
Authorities have yet to determine what caused this incident. That said, they will exhaust all means to determine if negligence played a part in the crash. This is noteworthy because if this is established, those injured (and the families of the dead victims) will have various options they can discuss with legal experts, including filing for damages.
