Southington – Highway Accident
A highway crash occurred in Southington yesterday morning.
The accident happened on the eastbound lanes of I-84, about a quarter of a mile before Exit 32 (Route 10). Officials received reports of a crash with injuries in the area at approximately 7:48 a.m. Emergency crews arrived at the scene soon after and immediately assisted all motorists involved in the incident and blocked off a section of highway to allow investigators to safety collect evidence. All lanes were cleared about half an hour later, and authorities are now investigating the cause of the crash. Officials have yet to identify anyone and will do so when appropriate.
Looking at recent statistics, emergency crews can typically respond to various road incidents within minutes, and it only takes them around 30 minutes to an hour to clear most crash sites, excluding accidents involving large vehicles (buses, tractor-trailers, etc.). This is noteworthy because it exhibits the dedication authorities have in dealing with these unfortunate events and the processes they usually follow.
