Seymour – Crash Fatality Identified
The victim of a recent intersection crash in Seymour has been identified.
73-year-old Francis Markey of Beacon Falls was riding his motorcycle north on North Street (Route 721) when he collided with a vehicle traveling west on Route 67 (New Haven Road). Markey sustained critical injuries in the crash and was immediately brought to the hospital where he eventually died. The driver of the vehicle was not harmed but was still sent to the hospital for evaluation. The case is still being investigated. Officials continue to ask anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them as soon as possible.
This case remains open, so we have yet to know the specific cause of the crash. Suffice it to say, if investigators discover negligence or reckless behavior, the victim’s family will have the option of filing for damages if deemed appropriate by their legal counsel.
