Putnam – Man Hurt After Being Hit by Car
Last Sunday, a man was seriously hurt after he was hit by a car in Putnam.
Richard Durocher, a 78-year-old Putnam resident, was on a crosswalk on Bridge Street, between Putnam Superior Court and Veteran’s Park when he was hit by a car. The driver’s identity was not disclosed by authorities but was described as an 81-year-old man from North Grosvenordale. Durocher sustained serious injuries and was transported to the Day Kimball Hospital. He was later moved to the UMASS Memorial Hospital for further treatment of his injuries. Circumstances of the incident are still being investigated and the authorities are encouraging possible witnesses to contact them as soon as possible.
