Preston – Fatality In Drive-By Shooting
A person was killed in a drive-by shooting in Preston early Saturday morning.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Routes 12 and 2A. A vehicle carrying an unspecified number of occupants drove by another vehicle and started shooting at it. The vehicle then fled the area. A passenger in the second vehicle was hit by the shooting — the vehicle was escorted by responding officials to L&M Hospital in New London where he/she eventually died. Officials are currently following leads that might help them apprehend the shooter or suspect vehicle, though they have yet to identify anyone involved in the incident. This post will be updated as soon as authorities release more info.
Officials would typically withhold details in specific cases when doing so might impede their investigations. Suffice it to say, the primary goal is apprehending responsible parties and bringing them to justice. It’s also important to note that in certain cases, victims of these events, or their next of kin, may also have legal options at their disposal. Consulting legal experts should prove very useful in these situations.
