Norwalk – Crash Involving Car On Autopilot
A vehicle on autopilot crashed into several vehicles on the highway in Norwalk last Saturday.
A state police cruiser stopped on I-95 North to investigate and assist a disabled vehicle near Exit 15 (Route 7). At this point, a Tesla on autopilot crashed into the back of the stopped cruiser. It then continued traveling forward, striking the disabled vehicle before coming to a stop. According to officials, people involved in the incident only sustained minor injuries. The driver of the Tesla has since been issued a summons related to the crash, claiming reckless driving and reckless endangerment.
It’s fortunate that no one involved in this incident sustained critical/serious injuries. Still, the crash affected several motorists and should be investigated thoroughly. The legal ramifications of self-driving vehicles will continue to be studied as this technology keeps moving forward. Regardless of circumstances, the safety of all motorists will always be the priority. In line with this, people injured in road incidents are advised to seek legal guidance so that their cases can be thoroughly evaluated.
