New Canaan – Heavy Delays After Highway Crash
A highway vehicle accident caused heavy delays in New Canaan yesterday morning.
At approximately 8:47 a.m., authorities received reports of a crash on the southbound lanes of Route 15 and immediately dispatched crews to the area. They discovered two vehicles that had figured in a crash near Exit 38, resulting in injuries. Fire and EMS crews were quickly called in to assist everyone involved in the incident. The crash closed the right lane of the highway, and this resulted in massive delays stretching back to Exit 40. All lanes have since been cleared. The accident is currently under investigation and the identities of motorists affected have yet to be disclosed. This post will be updated as more information comes in.
This incident demonstrates the collateral effects of highway accidents, mainly delays around crash sites. That said, the safety of all motorists will always be the priority of authorities, as well as identifying crash causes/culprits. The second point is noteworthy because if officials discover negligence in any of these cases, injured parties may have the option of filing for damages under appropriate circumstances.
