New Canaan – Head-On Collision Injures 2
Two cars figured in a head-on crash that injured two drivers last Friday in New Canaan.
The accident occurred on Smith Ridge Road before 7:00 a.m. and involved an Acura sedan and a workman’s van. It took respondents approximately 20 minutes to extricate one of the drivers. Both drivers sustained injuries and were transported to Norwalk Hospital for treatment. The accident scene had to be closed to clear the crash but has since been reopened. Officials said that a possible cause of the incident was overspeeding.
Head-0n collisions typically involve a vehicle running against the intended flow of traffic, although thorough investigations are needed to clearly determine the cause of these types of crashes. That said, injuries caused by DUI, negligence or other inappropriate factors can be grounds for personal injury claims by aggrieved parties.
