Middletown – Road Worker Hit By Car

A road worker was injured in an accident in Middletown last Wednesday.

27-year-old Dillon Peterson was working on the northbound side of I-91, laying down traffic cones, when two vehicles collided behind him. He was hit by one of the vehicles and sustained serious injuries. Emergency responders quickly transported him to Hartford Hospital for treatment. The driver of the car that hit him was also transported to the hospital for evaluation, while the driver of the second vehicle fled the area. Authorities are currently investigating the incident and are asking anyone who may have witnessed it to contact them as soon as possible.

Road construction/repair workers always have to deal with dangerous conditions, particularly during nighttime. Identifying errant or negligent motorists that cause accidents in these conditions is imperative so that authorities can improve road safety for everyone. That said, anyone injured in similar situations can consult legal experts to determine their best course of action.
