Crash investigations can take months in many instances. This is frequently the case because accurately establishing accountability is the end goal, and authorities have to explore all possibilities and study all available evidence before making any conclusion. With that said, victims of these unfortunate events, or their families, should also be aware of the legal options they can pursue if investigators discover negligence as a factor in their cases.
