Middletown – Highway Truck Accident

A truck figured in an accident in Middletown yesterday afternoon.

At approximately 4:09 p.m., state and local authorities were alerted to a crash on the southbound lanes of I-91. Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the area and discovered a truck crash about a quarter of a mile before Exit 19 (Baldwin Avenue). No word yet on the number of vehicles and motorists involved in the crash, but injuries were reported and everyone involved has since been tended to by medical personnel. A portion of the southbound side of I-91 was blocked following the incident and was cleared less than two hours later. The crash is currently under investigation. Updates will be provided as soon as authorities release more info.

Truck accidents typically result in heavy delays on major thoroughfares, so processing and clearing these sites can be a challenge for emergency responders. That said, state and local officials would always have the resources to deal with these incidents, and this includes assigning investigators to study and collect evidence. Obviously, culprits must be brought to justice, but victims should also be given ample opportunities to find closure, particularly when they are injured due to reckless or negligent behavior. Legal experts can help aggrieved parties throughout this process.
