Hartford – Interstate Crash Update

Officials just released more info regarding last weekend’s interstate accident in Hartford.

A Honda Civic was traveling on I-84 West when it suddenly swerved off its proper lane and crashed into the median barrier in the vicinity of Exit 48. 18-year-old Christian Cruz, the driver of the vehicle, sustained critical injuries and died in the hospital, while his passenger sustained minor injuries. The passenger has now been identified as 16-year-old Andrew Street of New Britain. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, while Cruz wasn’t. The incident remains under active investigation. More updates will follow.

It can be argued that not wearing safety belts can be a form of negligence, and it’s unfortunate that this incident resulted in the death of a motorist. Establishing accountability can be challenging in similar cases. Regardless, parties involved in these scenarios should be informed of their options and choices. Legal experts can help them take stock of these situations and recommend appropriate action plans.
