Greenwich – Vehicle Accident On Interstate
An accident closed down a section of the interstate in Greenwich yesterday evening.
At approximately 6:23 p.m., state and local officials received reports of a crash that occurred on the northbound lanes of I-95 and immediately dispatched emergency responders to the area. An unspecified number of vehicles was involved in a crash about a fifth of a mile before Exit 4 (Indian Field Road) that resulted in injuries. Medical personnel have since tended to everyone affected in the crash. The severity of the accident hobbled cleanup operations. Still, it only took less than an hour before road crews declared all lanes open. The identities of motorists involved in the incident have yet to be disclosed. Updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
Investigating and clearing highway accidents can be challenging, particularly during rush hours. That said, the safety of everyone involved is always the priority of accident responders, after which identifying crash culprits becomes their focus. This is noteworthy because, as motorists, if ever we are involved in similar situations, establishing accountability can allow us to file for damages in cases where negligence, DUI or reckless behavior have been identified.
