Greenwich – DUI Charge Against Motorist
A motorist was just charged with DUI in connection with a recent intersection crash in Greenwich.
At approximately 10:20 p.m. on December 5, two cars collided at the intersection of North Water Street and Byram Road, resulting in moderate damage and injuries. A subsequent investigation revealed that Michelle Maher of Greenwich, the driver of one of the involved vehicles, was intoxicated when the crash occurred. She failed field sobriety tests issued by responders at the time of the incident, and she reportedly failed to heed a stop sign which led to the collision. Maher was immediately apprehended and has since been charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. She is scheduled to appear in court on December 20.
Motorists driving under the influence have caused many accidents that have injured other motorists. It’s imperative that these negligent drivers are stopped from driving and hurting other people.
