A metal spike thrown by a lawn mower hits a car in Fairfield this past weekend.
A car driving along Lockwood Road in Fairfield was suddenly hit by a metal spike apparently thrown by a commercial lawn mower, The object entered the vehicle thru the rear window glass, narrowly missing two toddlers (2-year-old and 3-year-old) securely fastened in the back seats of the vehicle. Officials said the ten-inch pipe missed the faces of both toddlers by only inches. Still, both toddlers sustained injuries due to the broken glass and were tended to by rescue personnel.
