East Lyme – Interstate Truck Accident
A section of the highway in East Lyme was blocked off following a crash Monday evening.
At 6:31 p.m., emergency crews responded to I-95 North following reports of an accident involving at least one truck about half a mile past Exit 72 (Rocky Neck Connector). Responders had to block off a section of the highway to allow them to safely assist all affected motorists. It’s not yet clear how many vehicles figured in the crash or what caused it. All lanes were declared cleared about an hour later. This story will be updated when authorities release more info.
Emergency dispatchers across the state would typically have responders arriving at various crash sites in a matter of minutes, and that speaks to how road safety is always prioritized by authorities. They also have to quickly identify the causes of these incidents so that the appropriate measures, charges, or claims can be pursued by all involved parties. Those injured due to negligence, in particular, have to be informed and guided as they may not be entirely aware of the options available to them post-accident.
