East Lyme – Highway Accident
A crash blocked off a portion of the highway in East Lyme yesterday.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to the southbound side of I-95 following reports of an accident. Responders arrived in the area at approximately 1:27 p.m. and discovered a crash about a third of a mile before Exit 74 (Flanders Road/Route 161). A still-unspecified number of motorists sustained injuries in the incident and had to be assisted by responding paramedics. No word yet on the number of vehicles involved. Everyone affected was accounted for, and the crash scene cleared, at approximately 1:44 p.m. The case is currently under investigation. Updates will be provided when officials release more info.
