East Haven – Multiple Charges Against Hit-And-Run Motorist

Multiple charges have been filed against an errant motorist in East Haven.

24-year-old Luis Montanez was arrested by officials in connection with a multi-crash incident that occurred last Friday. At around 9:35 p.m., calls came in of a collision at the intersection of Laurel and Bradley Streets. Montanez collided with another vehicle, then immediately drove away from the area. The driver of the second vehicle has since been taken to the hospital by responders. As officers were talking to the victim, another motorist reported that the striking vehicle crashed into a utility pole around a mile away. Montanez was eventually found and arrested at the intersection of Bradley and Lindberg Streets. He is facing multiple charges related to this and previous cases and is scheduled to appear in court on April 20.

As this case clearly displays, motorists exhibiting negligent behavior can cause heavy damage and serious injuries if not stopped. Apprehending these culprits is imperative if justice is to be served. That said, people who are injured by these reckless individuals are advised to talk to expert counsel. Their cases have to be evaluated so that any appropriate legal avenue can be properly pursued.
