East Haven – Hit-And-Run Incident
Authorities have filed several charges against a hit-and-run suspect in East Haven.
24-year-old Luis Montanez was arrested last Friday in connection with a hit-and-run crash and other offenses. Montanez collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Bradley and Laurel Streets. He fled the area but was found and arrested soon after. According to officials, the suspect was already wanted for previous offenses before this incident. Montanez is now facing charges of carrying a pistol without a permit, criminal possession of a pistol, evading responsibility, and weapons in a motor vehicle.
As this case exemplifies, authorities will always exhaust all means to apprehend individuals who exhibit reckless or negligent behavior. Our safety and preventing future incidents will depend on this. That said, people are frequently hurt in these encounters, so victims have to be aware of their legal options post-incident. It’s always advisable to consult expert counsel so that our cases can be thoroughly evaluated.
