Darien – Another Crash Victim Dies
Another victim of last weekend’s highway crash in Darien was just pronounced dead.
19-year-old Chase Ortiz of Norwalk, as well as other passengers, were seriously injured when the vehicle they were riding in swerved off the northbound lanes of I-95, just past Exit 9, hitting a tree before coming to a stop. Ortiz was pronounced dead by his family last Tuesday evening. He is the second fatality in the incident after another passenger was pronounced dead at the crash site. Other survivors of the crash remain in serious condition. Authorities are still investigating the incident and will release more updates as they become available.
This unfortunate event highlights many of the circumstances that follow highway accidents, particularly those involving high-speed impacts with other vehicles or, in this case, roadside structures. These crashes frequently result in serious injuries, so identifying the causes of these accidents is imperative so that victims or their next of kin can seek justice and find closure.
