Coventry – Weekend Crash Victim Identified

The victim of last Saturday’s fatal accident in Coventry has been identified by authorities.

At approximately 4:03 a.m. last Saturday, a vehicle crashed and rolled over near the intersection of Boston Turnpike and Lathrop Drive. The operator was thrown out of the vehicle, sustaining serious injuries in the process. Officials have now identified the driver as 21-year-old Cole Montefusco of Redding, a UConn student. He was found lying on the roadway by emergency responders and was immediately taken to Hartford where he was eventually declared dead. There is still no evidence suggesting ill-intent or the involvement of other vehicles in the crash. The case is still under active investigation, and authorities are asking possible witnesses to contact them as soon as possible.

The lack of info or evidence can hamper many crash investigations, so authorities frequently encourage the public to assist with these cases. Suffice it to say, responsible parties must be apprehended and brought to justice. As victims of these traumatic events, aggrieved parties should be given ample opportunities to cope.
