Colchester – Head-On Crash Update
Authorities just released more info regarding last Friday’s head-on accident in Colchester.
70-year-old Diane Wallis of Colchester was driving on Lebanon Avenue near Northern Boulevard when her vehicle suddenly swerved onto the opposite lane, crashing head-on with another vehicle. Wallis was killed in the incident. Officials have now identified the driver of the second vehicle as 61-year-old Philip P. Selavka. He was transported to William W. Backus Hospital after sustaining back injuries in the crash. Authorities are still investigating the incident and asking witnesses to contact State Police as soon as possible.
It’s unfortunate that a motorist was killed in this incident. Having said that, establishing accountability remains the primary goal of officials handling this case. Regardless of circumstances, identifying causes/culprits will allow victims of these events, or their families, to cope and eventually find closure.
