Bristol – Disabled Injured In Accident
A man on a wheelchair was hit by a vehicle in Bristol yesterday afternoon.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the intersection of Center and Foley Streets after authorities received reports of an accident in the area. At approximately 1:40 p.m., a disabled man on a wheelchair was hit by a passing Kia Sportage. The victim sustained injuries and was immediately transported to the hospital for treatment. The Kia swerved off the roadway after hitting the pedestrian, crashing into a utility pole in the process. The driver was not injured. Crews from Eversource were called in to repair the damaged pole. The crash is currently under investigation. More information will be released as they become available.
