A motorist sustained gunshot injuries in Bridgeport last Sunday evening.
A few minutes before midnight, authorities received reports of gunshots in the vicinity of 200 Hallett Street. Local police responded and found an empty car with blood residue and bullet holes. Investigators immediately cordoned off and scoured the scene for evidence. A short time later, officials received reports of a wounded person entering Bridgeport Hospital. The victim was seriously hurt but remained responsive. Authorities are now investigating the connection between these two incidents. They have yet to gather information about possible suspects and will update the public when appropriate.
Investigators handling this case will consider all possibilities in establishing liability/accountability. A suspect has yet to be identified, but if any form of negligence or reckless behavior is eventually discovered, personal injuries sustained can be grounds for filing damage claims.
