Bethel – Warning Lights In Accident-Prone Highway
Authorities are installing warning devices at a crash-prone area in Bethel.
The westbound Exit 8 off-ramp is the location of a new pilot project that authorities hope will reduce instances of wrong-way accidents in Bethel and surrounding areas. This is a particularly high-risk section of I-84. The installation of new warning signs/lights, as well as cameras, will hopefully reduce crashes following the recent spate of wrong-way accidents. An example of that would be in September of last year when a head-on collision between Exits 16 and 15 on I-84 West resulted in two fatalities. A more recent case would be on January 12 when a driver was apprehended after driving east on I-84 West near Exit 10. This new project will eventually be expanded to more locations.
Officials across the state are constantly implementing new programs or projects that can improve road safety for everyone. It’s a noteworthy endeavor, particularly when we consider that negligence can play a significant part in many crashes/collisions, and it’s possible to address this issue and prevent future incidents. These things said, injuries caused by negligent behavior can allow victims to file legal claims against liable parties with the help of expert counsel.
