79-year-old Daniel Paine, residing at 11 Maple Lane, just left his home when, at approximately 9:30 a.m., he was struck by a vehicle. Paramedics were quickly dispatched to the accident site but failed to revive the victim; he was pronounced dead soon after. The driver of the striking vehicle immediately stopped and is cooperating with authorities. There is currently no evidence suggesting ill-intent was involved in the crash, though the incident is still under investigation. Officials are asking witnesses and anyone with potentially useful info to contact them as soon as possible.
This crash occurred on a dead-end road where we wouldn’t expect motorists exhibiting reckless behavior, so identifying the cause or culprit is crucial to preventing future incidents.
