Windsor – Highway Vehicle Accident
Officials responded to a highway crash in Windsor yesterday evening.
At approximately 8:37 p.m., authorities were alerted to a crash that occurred on the southbound lanes of I-91 and immediately dispatched emergency crews to Exit 35A (Route 291). Upon arriving, they discovered a vehicle accident with injuries and immediately cordoned off the area to allow EMS personnel to treat motorists affected by the incident. Officials have yet to specify the number of vehicles and motorists involved in the crash, and it took road crews more than two hours to clear all lanes of the highway. The case is currently under investigation. Updates will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
Emergency crews will always prioritize the safety of everyone involved in road incidents after which removing any obstruction becomes their goal. This is particularly important on major thoroughfares to avoid collateral effects, such as traffic delays. These things said, identifying the causes of these accidents is important to everyone concerned. Authorities need to bring culprits to justice, while victims have to find closure. Establishing accountability can allow victims, under ideal circumstances, to file for damages/compensation which is just one way towards this goal.
